How To Care For Your Flowers

Flower Care Guide

Accepting a flower bouquet as a gift, you can be sure that the flowers are professionally prepared by the florist: the stems are neatly cut, and extra leaves are removed from the bottom. In order the flowers in the bouquet / arrangement to stay fresh as long as possible, please read the recommendations concerning the care from the florists of the LoraShen online store:
  • 1. If you have received a bouquet and plans to continue its transporting around the city, especially during the cold season, it is not recommended to remove transport package.

  • 5. Renew the plant cut-offs by 1.5-2 cm. It is advisable to make a long oblique cut, which will allow the flowers to absorb water better. Use a sharp, clean knife or plant pruner for this job.
  • 6. Carefully remove the lower leaves, so that they do not reach the water in the vase.
  • 7. Before pouring water into a vase, wash it with detergent —this way, you will wash away the dust and germs that are trapped in the vase.
  • 8. Use fresh, cold, tap water. Make sure you give enough water to the flowers. Ideally, the vase should be 3/4 full by water.
  • 9. Do not spray flowers with water. The exception is hydrangeas, they love water.
  • 10. Change water daily. Especially while the heat or in houses with central heating, because the water is not only absorbed by the plants, but also vaporize.
  • 11. If possible, daily renew the cut-off of plants by 1.5-2 cm.
  • 12. If you use fertilization for cut flowers, follow the correct dosage and care recommendations, which are described on the manufacturer's packaging.
  • 13. The constant, moderate, temperature content of the flowers is important. Flowers should be in a bright room, but not in the direct sunlight.
  • 14. Do not put a bouquet next to fruits. They produce ethylene, harmful to flowers.
